A Whole New World of Work
No job is secure, change is the only certainty and a good job still can't love you back.
The good news?
You don't need to spend a lifetime stuck in a career that doesn't fit.
There are more ways than ever to do well-compensated, meaningful and fulfilling work in the world.
Which means you have more power than ever to create - or reinvent - a career that fits you perfectly.
To make smart decisions that lead to success, start by getting crystal clear about your strengths, values, skills and priorities.
It took me a long time to figure this out for myself. I can help you get there faster.
A young career professional had a hunch about what was next for him, but was hesitant to make the leap. In a few coaching sessions, he came to realize just how aligned his long-dreamed-of next step was with the strengths and skills that had energized him his whole life, which make taking the next step simple to the point of inevitability.
An emerging leader was excited about moving to be closer to her fiancé. And overwhelmed at the thought of finding a new job in a new city. During our work together, she found clarity amid the chaos, rediscovered strengths and skills she had put aside in her old job and found a new one where she gets to use them every day.
With a personal milestone on the horizon, a copywriter told me, "I don't want to do this until I retire. I feel like I need to make a move sooner rather than later." As we explored the life she wanted to create by that "big" birthday, she took small steps that reinvigorated her to the point that she felt great about putting off a big career transition for a few more years.
After beating herself up that her coaching practice hadn't grown the way she'd hoped, I helped a solo professional understand that what she wanted was the flexibility to spend more time with her family and in nature. As she embraced those priorities, the right clients, in the right numbers, started to show up.
When we work together, you get my full attention and all of my strengths, knowledge and skills as a master certified coach.
I show up fully with all that I learned in over twenty-five years' experience in health care management and in public and private education. And a whole lot more years' experience in creating a career that's about meaning and purpose as well as making a living.
I hold an MBA in Health Care Management and bachelors and masters degrees in Music Education.
My training includes Master Coach Certification from the Martha Beck Institute as well as training in applied positive psychology from the Plink Center for Coaching Excellence, nature-based coaching from the Sagefire Institute and Career Invention Coaching from Executive Coach Michele Woodward.
I think assessment tools are fantastic - when they're accompanied by thoughtful reflection and practical application - and I'm certified to administer and interpret the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, DiSC 2.0 and DiSC 363+, and I'm trained to interpret the VIA Survey of Character Strengths and Gallup StrengthsFinder 2.0.
My home base is in the Philadelphia suburbs, delightfully close to my heart's home at the way-South Jersey shore. I can't help but pepper conversations, coaching and otherwise, with references to show tunes, Jimmy Buffett lyrics and classical choral music, observations about and deep love of the natural world, my Celtic-ancestry-inspired fascination with most things woo and the latest antics of Elphaba, the stray rabbit who captured my heart and took over my home.
My super power is helping people do that thing they really want to do but think they can’t.
